April is National Serger Month

April is officially National Serger Month.

Calling all die-hard serger enthusiasts! Starting this year, April will be known as National Serger Month. To commemorate its first year, Baby Lock will offer free serger projects, expert tips, and serger giveaways on its newly minted site: nationalsergermonth.com. You can also find a timeline documenting the history of sergers.

Threads has also been busy putting together an exciting new serging project of our own. Earlier this year, sewing expert and serger extraordinaire, Pamela Leggett was at our studio shooting an upcoming DVD titled, Serger Techniques. Be on the look out for more information in the coming months.

      More on Serging:

I would love to be celebrating National Serger Month by using serger to make robes for 2 of my 4 boys. But I don't have a serger (boooo) so I am using my sewing maching. And these fabrics don't want to cooperate very well. I haven't sewn on a serger since I was in college. So I just dream. Hopefully I will win one of the awesome contests. Happy National Serger Month to all of the fellow seamstresses out there:)

I've just recently moved, and we are still moving. So my serger and machine are still at our old house. I am so missing them now and I can't wait to set up my new sewing room and get back at it! Thank you, and I love my serger. Last year I took an online class and sewed an entire t-shirt with my serger. Really opened my eyes to the possiblities.

I am really wanting to learn to use a serger. I don't have one yet, but maybe one is in my future! I've used a Baby-Lock Imagine owned by a friend and it sure was fun. Great idea to celebrate serging this month.
