Awesome Upcycle

Simplicity 2192, dropped shoulder Cynthia Rowley top

This is my attempt to upcycle an old but shrunken crocheted lace sweater into a knockoff of a very expensive top I saw online. The tee fabric is a sheer batiste of 100% cotton. I added center front and center back seams to mimic the inspiration piece but that is where all resemblance ends. Seams are all French seams and the hem and side placket use Kenneth King’s tiny hem technique. The neckline and sleeve edges are finished with entredeaux which I love to use.

I used Simplicity 2192, a Cynthia Rowley design, that I changed up to fulfill my design vision.

I love the use of entredeux to finish the edges. I will definitely remember this idea for future projects.
