Over more than 50 years of sewing and just as many classes on fitting,I am always up to learning new ways of doing the job. I have appreciated Kenneth King 's talent in garment structure and thank him for sharing with us.

sewist100 sewist100 writes: Allowing for two ways to enter this contest so quickly in response to input from customers is excellent customer service! Thank you, Evamarie Gomez and Debra Sennefelder.

I am a longtime sewer and consumer of Taunton Products. I would love to win the Kenneth King Smart Fitting DVD set for 3 reasons:

First, I continue to struggle with fit even though I have checked out every book in my library system on fit trying to learn the techniques in each.

Second, I have some limitations due to an illness that can make reading and detail work more difficult. I own Taunton DVDs on topics other than fitting, and now find DVDs an easier way for me to engage and learn than books.

Third, I'm a fan of Kenneth King, took his classes on copying RTW garments and zipper welts through patternreview.com before they included video content, and have his book Cool Couture. His teaching style and ability to demonstrate are so effective. I've been hoping to see a DVD series like this from him. He's a great talent and I applaud Taunton for publishing this Smart Fitting series. I think it would be a real help to me.

LinLohLan LinLohLan writes: Two years ago, I took an hour long free fitting class at a sewing expo and learned so much. Of course, it only scratched the surface of the topic. Having dvd's that I can replay would be ideal. I'm a pear: if I buy patterns, I have to alter them to fit, so buy to fit my top and wing it enlarging the bottom. I have a number of thrift store bargains - some that still had their original upscale department store price tags - and am eager to try new skills making those fit. A major fabric store opened across the street from me & I purchase 3 patterns the day they opened. Yes, I need these dvd's!

This DVD series will come in especially handy this year as:
1) A new wardrobe is needed after a 20-lb weight change
2) Coping with an over-60 body is a special challenge -- we all know that the pattern companies do not cater to this demographic!
3) Although I have gotten pretty good at altering skirts, it's time to move on -- I certainly could use the help fitting dress bodices!

PLEASE pick me!

user-2517490 user-2517490 writes: The reasons I would like this DVD series are three:

1) I am tired of being a consumer. I want to be a producer of quality clothing for young and old alike.

2) I am desperate for an inexpensive education in how to make and fit clothing. I have always wanted to learn to sew since my teens, but am just now able to begin my sewing adventures at the age of 35. I hope it's not too late! I'm willing to learn the long and hard way by teaching myself through trial and error. However, I'd like to try to avoid wasting time & energy by getting the best education I can without too much expense. My goal is to become a successful Sewing Professional, specializing in custom clothing and alterations.

3) Most importantly, I want to pass these creative skills onto the next generation, but I must first learn the skills before they can be passed on.

Thank you Kenneth, for your generosity in giving back to the sewing community your creative expertise!
