High-Low Hemmed Sheath Dress

Once I had the fabric home from the store, I sketched-out my vision to make the most of the beautiful colors in the print.

I was inspired by the silky viscose print, which actually starts with yellows which blends to oranges, reds, greens, blues, pinks, and purples. I didn’t use the full print for two reasons: 1) I wanted the darker colors on my hips, 2) the print wasn’t long enough to meet the ground and I didn’t like the in-between length that it would be. I used my sloper to create a pattern modeled from a little black sheath dress I love, and updated the hemline to be high-low to give the simple sheath a modern edge.
