I created this Happy Scarecrow for a fall festival at my church. It is a no-sew design. The top is a man’a flannel shirt and the bottoms are sweat pants. Patches were cut from fabric and glued on with tacky fabric glue. I embelished the costume with fabric paint adding stitches and design patterns. The straw around the hands and feet were made with felt and elastic for easy removal. The hat has pink hair glued around it that matches the colors of the fabric paint. To tie it together is a piece of think gold cording knotted around the waist.
