Ombre Satin Prom Dress with Rhinestones

Prom dress made from ombre dutchess satin embellished with hot fix rhinestones.

This is a dress I made for my daughter’s prom.  She liked the reference to the 1940’s pinup style. The heavy ombre dutchess satin fabric gave the the mermaid train just the right amount of body and it walked beautiful. The bodice, straps and hem were embellished with AB and wine colored hot fix rhinestones.

The matching bag was my own design.

Vogue designer pattern V2931 was modified to remove the bow and add the slit.  The fitted, lined dress has princess seams and front bra, back invisible zipper closing and neck straps. Built-in foundation with boning, hook and eye tape closing. Extensively altered to fit her very petite 4’10” height.

I love the alterations that you did to the pattern. What a great look!
