I made this holiday gown out of irridescent Duponi Silk, originally purchased from Britex in San Francisco – the bill for the fabric surpassed $250 back in the early 2000’s. I altered the McCalls wedding gown pattern to fit my figure. The neckline was so deep that I added the soft draping and the hand-sewn roses at the shoulders. I also added some elastic to the cap sleeves to help them stay on my shoulders. The godets in the back of gown added an elegance fitting for a ball gown. I felt like Scarlet Ohara in it! LOL!
