I love to make skirts. Starting with a well fitting basic straight skirt block it is possible to create a multitude of patterns and make lots of different ones. I have trouble buying skirts that fit but making my own means I can have them fit well and that is much more slimming.
I like skirts because they are simple and you can make so many versions.

Currently im making a ton of dresses. Ive had quite a few fails when it comes to a tailored shirt but i have taken a couple craftsy classes and i plan to take more cause they help a lot. I want to continue to sew professional looking garments and i am expanding my reference books because they help me a lot.
Right now my clothing style is vintage. I love the looks from the 1940's and the 1950's. Vintage patterns are hard to find, they only come in one size per pattern package, and the woman size of those years are not what we are today, the pattern alterations came become overwhelming. Being able to draft my own patterns would give me the ability to get a perfect size pattern that could be adapted to vintage style clothing.
I love to make elaborate dresses for evening wear. I recently made an Elsa dress for my grand-daughter that took me 3 weeks to make because I had to create the pattern for her, she now loves it so much that she wants me to make the ball gowns for Elsa and Anna. My work is never done.......

I mostly like to sew "go to church" because that is when I like to look my best. Best fit, best fabric etc. So, I like casual slack outfits to tailored jacket suits. I sew with woven as well as knits. Whatever I sew, FIT is most important.
The style of clothing I like to sew is fitted garments on my petite figure but with a large bust.
Over the years I have made most of my clothes from my nursing uniforms to my Sunday clothes and regular clothes. Mostly I have made skirts and simple tops over the last few years. I am now experimenting with pillowcase dresses in my search for easy on and off clothing that is comfortable to wear as I have bad arthritis and need clothing that caters more to disabilities (no zippers, snaps, hooks and eyes, etc.), something that the pattern companies seem to ignore.(hint, hint to all those designers looking for a clothing need to focus on)
I thought I had it made when I went to my son's wedding and all the clothes that I took and wore were made my me and my only jewelry was a coordinating necklace made by my hubby!
I've had this book on my Amazon wish list for a while and would love to study it.

I admit to being a dress and jacket sort of girl. When I find a pattern I like I alter it to fit my lumpy bits then trace it to card stock to use again and again. Just made my own handbag too, thanks to help from Craftsy.
I like making jackets so that I can embellish them for personalization.
Lately, I don't like making anything because fitting has become such a bear! LOL

My most favored style and the style in which I long to excel is haute couture. You are not going to believe this but I apply every streamline, durable, classy, and classic technique to the small kitchen appliance covers I design, construct and sell. My covers are TOPSHELF. I am finding that off-the-rack clothes do not fit, and I am wanting to learn how to draft my own patterns. This book would help a lot!
I used to sew a lot of more fitted clothing, but I stopped trying after figuring out the patterns never really fit me and I didn't really know how to adjust many of the problem areas BEFORE I cut and sewed it. Now I make shirts and skirts that have a lot of ease in them so I can pass them off as slouchy! hahaha. I really need that book!
Chanel style jackets are my passion. I started sewing at 11 yrs old and still love learning new techniques.
I like my clothes to fit, but be comfortable. Classic with sometimes a little twist, some unexpected detail. Styles that are elegant and fi in any decade. I'm sure this book will make things easier than what I learned in school.

I am 78 years old, 5'2" and I am not into clothes/dresses above my knees nor ankle length/dragging on the floor. I like classic designs and being able to draft/change patterns of clothing suitable for me would be wonderful. I have made clothing for all members of my family, but am less than happy with many styles today.
I like to sew mainly skirts & dresses. I would like to learn how to draft my own pants since this is the area which is hardest for me to get a good fit with commercial patterns.
I enjoy working out my own ideas, but have pretty much modified commercial patterns - with varying success - or not! I'd love to have better information on patternmaking.
I prefer to sew casual separates. Tops, tees, shorts, pants, etc. That's what I wear the most. I do like challenging myself with different types of jackets.
Tops. I almost always wear slacks, and simple tops are my go to for wardrobe and sewing.
Tunics because I can wear them loose over jeans or shorts/skirts and even belt them to make a short dress. They are so versatile and easy to make.
I love knits. Plain and simple. I've been sewing with knits since I was a teen in the 80's. At least 90% of what I make is some kind of knit--ponte roma, poly/spandex or viscose/spandex blends, jersey, interlock, sweater knits...my favorite garments are simple with as few seams as possible but with interesting cuts or shapes (such as side seams that have been moved to the front of the leg or asymmetric hems or draped necklines). I love little knit spring/summer dresses because it gets so hot here in Texas and they keep you cooler than shorts and a top. I travel quite a bit and I have several dogs at home, so the things I make and wear are as comfortable as pj's, are washable and packable, and won't wrinkle. Because I stick to "classic" lines, most of my knit outfits can go from work to dinner and even to the dog park if I don't have time to change in between!
I have been creating girls dress for about 35 years self taught which isn't the best way but I had two girls, so I had to get creative boy how I wish I could have had this book and an embroidery machine way back when. I guess I did ok when my girls were in HS I made their prom dresses, raising them on my own with a couple of jobs I sometimes be up late finishing the dress. I am sure if I could've had a book like this thing could have went faster. Now I make fun clothes for my granddaughters now is when I need this book! I quilt but I never have made patterns for Dresses , I really would like to make the dresses more fitting and learn more techniques as well as using my own pattern which is a much needed now. I like to make garments with princess seams because of the opportunities for fitting.
I like making dresses. I know it's not very impressive, but the amount of time you put in it as opposed to the result, always astounds me. It's a whole outfit, and you can sew something exactly fitting to your taste and body shape. Fashions hardly ever flatter everyone, but custom made classic garments will always satisfy you. :)
I love to make evening dresses. It makes me so happy to make a girl or woman to feel like she looks like a princess. It's what I love to sketch and what I love to make.

My favorite clothing to sew right now is pretty much anything for my daughter - she is a delight to sew for and always like the things we come up with. Skirts and tops are our current picks.
I am half way to my goal of loosing 150 pounds. Obviously, well-fitting clothes are my goal. My style is classic casual, with accents of creative details and design. I also love dress styles from the '30s, '40s and '50s. I am eager to be designing and making my new clothes for a much smaller me!
My favorite things to sew are billowy tops made with lawn or shirting. It's perfect for Florida weather; the breeze blows through the fabric and refreshes the skin.
I love making knit tops. So easy yet comfortable. Pants are a challenge to get a good fit making my own pattern would be ideal.
The clothing style I LIKE to make most are knit tops, but the styles I WANT to make are dresses and pants that are for woven fabric.
My interest in drafting has come from the desire to make patterns for my mature 5' petite plus body. I'm currently finding most standard sized patterns are quite different than me so there's always a lot of alterations.
There's always fine tuning to do for every garment, but it would be nice to start out with a pattern that's been drafted for me in the first place.

That's a hard question to answer, especially since I am starting all over. I used to sew as a teenager, young adult, and young mother. But I haven't sewn in years and am re-learning things! So far, without much success. Mostly, I would like to sew for myself.
I like everyday casual styles that are also feminine and a little flirty. Clothes shouldn't be tight, they should just fit well. I'm a female, not a male. And I'm not a teenager anymore. Rather, I'm a woman, and I want my garments to say so!
I love sewing swimsuits. Well it's not so much that I love sewing them - Being very short in the body, I just can't buy ones that fit. So it's make or not swim. Perish the thought!

I make workout clothing for myself and my daughters. Anything knit, spandex etc, is my idea of a good time
My favorite style to sew is skorts, skirts and dresses of 4 way stretch knit.
Most of these are for my grand girls because they love the comfort of this type of knit. Dresses are usually a sundress or sleeveless. The skirts all have ruffles on the bottom. The pattern I use adapts to a skirt easily, with or without ruffles.
So much to sew, so little time. Oh what joy it brings to do something for these girls.
Remember the "Your Changing Body" type books from Health class? Well, it never stops. Being able to sew enables me to get a great fit in custom clothes I make myself or by altering those fabulous buys in ready-to-wear that just don't hang quite right. My adult daughter still loves to have me rescue favorite garments or coax new purchases into the perfect fit.
I've always altered patterns to fit my shape and offbeat style, but not always with great success. Now I want to make travel wear that is comfortable, convertible and stylish. It would be more successful if I knew how to make my own patterns.
I like to sew relatively uncomplicated styles. I am a hand weaver so the cotton cloth I weave tends to be heavier than most shirt fabrics, so I can't encumber the finished piece with too many fancy additions that add to the weight. Mostly, I like weaving cloth for sewn sweaters, especially pullover. I'm not sure what style that would fall under. I'd like to be able to make my own patterns that I can tailor to the cloth.
I have college aged sons who I used to sew for. Bib overalls when they were toddlers and alot of Halloween costumes. I now have time to sew for myself. A fitted dress would be perfect.

I like to make loose and layered styles of clothing for most of my garments. I choose patterns that feature simple uncluttered construction and complicated styling. I buy beautiful, colorful fabrics. The more basic my garment is, the easier it will interchange with other items in my wardrobe. The garments I make usually require the least care even if I'm away from home. I love to sew tailored pants and skirts, and while I have fun making knit tops, I am currently working on fitting woven shirts, since they are more flattering and appropriate for work.
I like to use good high quality fabrics and casual style silhouettes, but would like to add a edgy twist to them to keep from looking too preppy. I enjoy making historical costumes. It can be difficult, if not impossible to find ready-made patterns for these garments. If you are a large size, the problem becomes worse. Making your won patterns becomes the option, and any methods to make that taks easier are welcome!

I have been sewing most of my life and make everything from gowns to coats. I have made some patterns of my own but some have been less effective than I would have wanted. I would love to find out where I am going wrong.

My style is mostly classic/casual classic and I'd love to make everything fit, the first time. My body has changed as I've aged and I've lost some weight. I like "classic" style with a bit of a new twist, the best. After all they are classic for a reason, and don't go out of style,but with current fabrics,and techniques they can look fresh. Most of my sewing is for my grandchildren, 6 girls and 2 boys. I like frilly things for the girls, but as they get older this book would be great!
My most rewarding endeavor isn't completed yet. I'm in the process of drafting a sloper for a disabled woman for whom there are no patterns available. I'm doing it by brute force and would love to have some reference material to assist me.
THIS is the book i've been waiting for. For many years i have made most of my clothes but find it difficult to find the simple, relaxed but office appropriate style i prefer. it doesn't help that i'm "full figured" and all the cutest patterns are for those that look good in a sheet. I have a large library of sewing books but this would probably be the most helpful to me.
Custom bras; high added value and they impact everything else. I get a well-fitted bra for relatively little cost.
Ah. I used to enjoy so many different creative endeavors. But never did i truly encounter creative design until after my special needs child outgrew those cute things that can fit a special needs child. Now, she is nine yrs old, almost five feet tall, about 115 pounds, and very special needs.....now i am beginning to understand that creative sewing......is a limitless path. Her needs change, and i must accommodate. There are extraordinarily few and extraordinarily limited and ...unattractive....options out there for any special needs sizes beyond the young child and small older child. Its as if commando is the only possible solution for any special needs over the age of 8 years old. So, i now spend most of my creative effort trying to keep this rapidly growing big little girl dressed, pretty, and in functionally efficient clothing that somehow meet her clothing needs. I am becoming a sewing engineer. I do not know if it actually matters to her. She is very low function. But it matters to me. Just as i keep her hair and nails trimmed and nice, her face and teeth clean, a bit of bath powder in the summer, Pretty and functional leather shoes.....these things might seem superficial, but i prefer to think she benefits from the love that goes into these small attentions and efforts and being fussed over, in addition to her regular services schedules. So, i sew.
I have been sewing since I was a teen (a long time ago). Make everything from coats to purses. I like to use unusual fabrics to make classic styles. I would love to learn how t make my own patterns.
I work for a company whose main product is fabric swatching for the mens apparel and quilting fabric industries. We have the world's best left-overs! I didn't sew much for years until I had access to all this left-over fabric,ranging from fat-quarter-size calico to as a many as several yards of wools and silks. My challenge is finding ways to utilize this found stash, especially to make blouses and skirts for work and play. I can dress quite casually for work, and I participate in a number of active sports, particularly mountain biking and kayaking. As a middle-aged woman, I find there is a limited selection for age/figure friendly clothing for my sports, and I enjoy the challenge of developing styles that will suit my, and my friends', rather "unathletic-looking" bodies. (Appearances can and ARE deceiving). I would love to learn to properly measure for and draft patterns for some of my creations!
I enjoy sewing most of my clothing. Because I rarely find "off the rack" clothing that fits me well, I make both sportswear and "workwear" for myself. Even with years of experience, though, I find some patterns difficult to alter - couture patterns with nonstandard seams, for example. It would be so much easier if I just had a standard set of "templates" and knew how to change the seams and lines myself.

Actually I sew all sorts of garments for family and home dec. I alter for friends and family. I like trying new styles and fabrics but get intimidated when it becomes time to cut. I'd like to build my confidence.
I really like to make classic-style clothing with just a detail which makes all the difference in the world ! I like this most because classic is often stylish and needs just a bit of extra color or extra decoration to be absolutely stunning. Making them this way also enables to associate them with one another very easily ! Also i can keep quality high and insides fun :)
I love to make tops that are comfortable and casual. Lately I have really been getting into embellishing clothes I already have. I love all the different unique things you can create using an old t-shirt or other clothing items that you have but don't wear because they are out dated or plain. By adding some fun appliqués, beads, buttons, etc. you can turn any item into a new one that's fabulous. The possibilities are endless. I also like doing this with household items too!
I like to make clothing that is not hampered by the latest fad. I like to make clothing that is elegant and suits me. And I also like to include details that no one else may know of, but I do, like secret pockets, or a lining out of something silky that only I know about, and maybe a little piped edge that hints at that. I don't like clothing that restricts movement, even in tailored clothing. I think that is where measuring and making sure the pattern is fitted correctly to the body is the keystone. I am learning about patternmaking from a variety of angles, from taking Craftsy classes, reading and experimenting on my own. I have several duct tape models of my friends(guinea pigs)so I can practice making things that look good on them without the conflict of their schedules and mine. My daughter thinks it's odd to have all these "bodies" laying around (including hers). But hopefully the results will be worth all that duct tape.
In retirement, I find more time to sew and I enjoy it. I choose styles that are comfortable which usually means not too fitted. However, as one ages, even these styles need alterations to fit properly. I enjoy learning about how to do that. (Love Connie Crawford patterns. So straightforward to use).
Truthfully, I love to make clothes that actually fit. My struggle with commercial patterns is legendary. As a result, I shy away from most garment construction unless its a very forgiving pattern with considerable ease.
I'd love to sew more garments that fit and flatter. I've been sewing all my life. I used to sit under my grandmother while she sewed pushing her treadle sewing machine and have had a love affair with sewing ever since. I've never had the guts to try pattern making but would love to!!
I sew just about everything from baby clothing to quilts. I have been yearning to learn how to make my own patterns because as a plus sized woman, the selection and fit are limited to say the least. At 4' 10" and 92 pounds I really cannot buy much clothing "off the rack"; most adult sizes are too large and child sizes are the wrong shape. (I do purchase coats and accept that the coat will be too long in both body and sleeves) I have some patterns from many years ago that still fit, but I'd like to have more variety than those few skirts and dresses. Shirts are more difficult, since I have narrow shoulders, short from neck to waist (back waist length), but a wide upper back -- diagnosed at a fitting clinic many years ago. I'd also be interested in sewing some pants for myself, just to see if I could. (Since I sew pants for my husband I know I can sew them once I get the pattern right. But getting the pattern right is not simple; he is harder to fit than I am and had his pants professionally altered before we were married. He told me what adjustments were needed and we worked it out for sewing from the fabric)
I love to sew jackets and coats. You can make them as classic or crazy as you want. I sew most of my tops because as a pear with narrow shoulders RTW doesn't fit. I've been combining patterns for years and would really like to begin drafting my own.
I love putting the details I love into a garment that I make. I can change a pattern to showcase my fabric to its best effect. Who wants to see the clothes you are wearing on everyone else?
My pattern style is mixing African and American designs. I lived in Kenya thirteen years and my family is a mixture of American and Kenyan. I love to sew and am a designer by training. The struggle I have is making my own patterns. I am trying to learn how to make the patterns of the garments I love to create for my customers within the African community here in the USA. I can use all the help I can get!
I sew everything from upholstery to special occasion dresses. From baby clothes to pants. Outerwear to nighties. Drapes to quilts. I do some alterations, some tailoring. I especially do a good bit of that for myself as I am only 5"2 and EVERYTHING needs shortened.

I want to connect with my granddaughter and sewing could be the way. She has wonderful crazy ideas for clothes and teaching her to sew could be our connection.
Nothing off the rack ever fits me, so I either have to alter purchased garments, or spend time trying to adapt patterns before I can make something myself. Being able to draft my own patterns that would actually fit properly would be such a huge step forward for my sewing, not to mention having things that fit from the get go would be just awesome. I like to make classic garments with clean lines in bright colors with high-quality fabrics. I have a hard time finding patterns to suit my tastes so I have struggled with trying (rather unsuccessfully) to duplicate RTW garments.

I love making tops and outfits that are comfortable and flatters the figure but not necessarily fitted or tight. Commercial patterns are so expensive and needs so many adjustments. I think learning an easier way to make patterns that fit would be so much better!

I like clothing that fits - neither too loose nor too tight, with sleeves of the blouses and legs of the jeans at proper length instead of being too long, as so many that I buy "off the rack" have been. Peasant blouses and long (floor length) skirts or jeans are my favorites.
I have enough commercial patterns that I should never need another once I get those already in my pattern collection altered to correctly fit me... and start employing what I've learned from Angela Wolf's video, One Pattern, Many Ways - Volume 1.
I think "Pattern Making Made Easy" will supplement Angela Wolf's video nicely.

I love making casual clothes basically because I saw may own clothes. Doing it allows me to have exclusive designs and a very unique wardrobe. I enjoy shopping for fabrics, choosing the perfect one for the garment I am going to make.

Well - judging by the number of comments my chances of winning this book are slim! However - I love to sew business casual clothing - simple lines but with a lot of interest. I have wanted this book for AGES! In another life I might have been a fashion designer. I've been sewing since I was about 7 years old - first embroidery then sewing doll clothes, then clothes for myself - all by hand until I graduated to a sewing machine. My Grandmother taught me to sew and we had a wonderful sewing relationship. Grandma would send me sewing items for my birthday - and when she sent me a pair of scissors she requested a penny back because it's bad luck to send someone something sharp if it isn't paid for! LOVED my Grandma - SO happy she taught me to sew. It's been my lifelong interest. Proud owner of 6 sewing machines and two sergers. How many yards of fabric and boxes of patterns - TOO MANY to count and this is after trimming my stash by about 50% before moving two years ago! All fabric and patterns were donated - can't throw either away!!! ;-)

I have reached the "Senior" category, and while I sewed all my office work clothes for years, my needs are now a lot more casual. However, I don't like the prevailing 'old lady' look of pants and t-shirt. So I am trying to continue to look fashionable while living an easier life! Ever since I was in Connie's class I have wanted her books. I was only able to purchase her grading book and ruler. My daughters and I are three very different shapes and sizes and I could save a lot by not having to buy so many patterns. My style is business casual.
My style is almost everything but in moderation. I like 50's sheath, a 40's twin set with a pencil skirt. I never wear purchased clothing.

I like sewing historical and vintage fashions best! I usually do separates, so I can wear a Victorian shirtwaist with a modern skirt, or vice versa, but I also like doing vintage dresses. I also do drapes and Victorian crazy quilting and art quilting.

Although I am 5'6" I need Petite trousers. As I am also Plus size, trousers that fit are very difficult to buy off the rack without extensive retrofitting. This might lead you to believe my preference is sewing trousers. [sigh] No, I love sewing tops, which are also difficult to buy off the rack.

Girls and toddler boys clothes are what I have been working on in the past few years. This book would help me when I change the pattern, I have a hard time taking my ideas from paper to fabric - it doesn't stop me but it would be nice to actually know how to do it so I could be faster.
I sew mostly children's clothing. My grandchildren have sensory and allergy conditions that necessitate clothes to be made to accommodate them. The youngest has a polyester allergy and the older can't handle the feel on her skin of different types of cloth and certain sewing techniques and embellishments.
When my children were little I made many of their clothes, and now with grandchildren I have made things for them, but as they are getting older it's getting harder to fit them. This book would be a big help.
I would love to win this book! I do various forms of costuming: scifi, general Halloween, steampunk, and multiple eras of reenacting. I've been relying on published patterns, but the freedom of drafting my own is something I would ADORE. All of my family members are unable to use "off-the-rack" sizes, so drafting correct fits instead of altering to fit would be *so* freeing.

After spending a semester taking a class on adjusting patterns to fit, I have one perfect blouse and several failed pieces. I need better instruction so I can make a pair of pants that actually fit my body.
May favorite clothing styles to sew are very small - Barbie size nightgowns, dresses, sporty outfits. It doesn't take long to see your final creation, and they can be done while waiting for the laundry or the oven, or the TV repair man.
When my sons were adolescents I started making Halloween costumes then jackets and various other articles of clothing. Unfortunately I have never been able to fit myself and would love to learn how to make something that doesn't end up two sizes too large for me.
I come from a long line of very over weight women and finding decent things to wear off the rack is near impossible when you are on a fixed income. I do a lot of refashioning and enlarging of clothing and patterns. This book would be so very helpful for getting the fitting and finesse down right. summer dresses and skirts are fun to sew. so many nice cottons and fun and easy knits. I have enjoyed using my serger more and more to finish seams, hem with a rolled or ruffled edge, and always love the finishing touches such as a nice edge finish, trim, beads, buttons, etc.

I enjoy making clothes for my family and myself. As I have grown older, my "figure" has changed and I find that I must alter patterns to get a proper fit. I also find that many patterns don't have the features that I prefer. I would really like to try pattern making for myself - starting with a winter coat that will meet my warmth requirements in the Yukon winter, have adequate pockets for fulled mitts and other necessities, a functional hood and be flattering to me and dressy enough to wear for evenings out as well as everyday.
Shirts...there is so much to learn and I am so hard to fit. Pattern making is the answer for me.

I enjoy tailored garments that fit and are comfortable to wear. I love my custom made jeans that I made using Sue Ready's class on Craftsy. They don't gap at the waist and I can spend all day in them! Now working on a couture dress with Susan Khalji... lots of fun. Also drafting slopers.

I make mostly separates. I wear a wide variety of colors, and I like to mix up my tops and bottoms. Skirts are very satisfying to make because they usually go together quickly and are fun to wear. I like making things from knits and from stretchy wovens, but I'm pushing myself to trying more challenging or unusual fabrics. My next big challenge is mixing some boldly patterned African prints into some sort of cohesive outfit.
My favorite projects are costumes and ethnic clothing that translate into formal or every day wear.

I love making very soft, flattering, drapery jersey clothing - which is a shame because it is probably the hardest thing to find patterns for, and the hardest thing to design and sew! But worth it, if you can look like a million dollars but feel like you're in your pajamas... :)
I love sewing dresses and tops for my granddaughter and daughter, as it is so easy to fit on them (and the cuteness factor is very big for a 4 year old who loves dresses!). I myself am plus size, and without a fitting buddy, it is really hard to sew for myself (gone are the days when I could just use a pattern straight out of the package, alas!). I am most passionate about recreating film costumes from classic films such as "Gone With the Wind". On the same theme but on a smaller scale, replicating these came costumes for fashions dolls.

I have made things for myself but have never really liked how they turned out because it's harder to fit myself, so what I make, I end up giving away to someone else. This would help me make the competition dance costumes fit the dancers better and they last the entire competition season.
I have sewn for over 30 years and now have my own business called "All Stitched Up". I do sewing of all kinds. I also alter, mend and repair, make clothing from new patterns. I pretty much taught myself with some help from my mother who is a professional seamstress. However, I am wanting to learn more on this subject of altering patterns better and making my own so that I can share that with my current clients. I used to sew when the children were small and made their clothes etc. Then all the fabric stores closed around here and it was difficult to source fabric now however, fabric is so easy to find and so I'm hooked again yippy hee . Sewing’s been my love (escape, inspiration, energizer…you name it…) ever since stitching my first dress at age 9… Self-taught over 40 years ago, I’ve tried almost everything that caught my eye – some with more impressive results than others (ha, ha)! Unable to study at the fine schools, I’ve voraciously studied master tailors, dressmakers and industry secrets wherever I could find them. My long dream was to study with a couturier and master the art of pattern making and draping. Alas, expanding my skills from books must do for now and I'd LOVE to study this one!!
I just started making myself some more fitted dresses since I've lost over 70lbs in the last 1 1/2 years. I'm learning to alter out of necessity so it would be great to learn how to draft my own patterns.
I love Folkloric style clothing because of the ethnic detail in involves. The research into the history of the details is fascinating. I like to incorporate the folk details into modern clothing styles for both doll size and people size.

I am a beginner in sewing and have been working hard to increase my skills. So far, I've tried to made a variety different things and so far, I really enjoyed making tanks and skirts. I will be starting my next project which is address. I've been researching online pattern drafting because I want a better understanding on how patterns are created and eventually create my own line of patterns. I used to make almost every garment I wore, and I am trying to get back into sewing. It's harder to fit myself now. I like to make and wear pants and simple jackets that I can change with accessories.

I really like applying couture techniques to dresses(I'm not a pants girl), even simple basic ones, embellishing to make them "different/unique" as I don't like to look like everybody. And, I like my inside garments to be as pretty as the outside. Besides, back when I learned sewing, couture techniques was all I learned.

I have recently become enamored with the vintage 50's style swing dress look. I started watching "I Love Lucy" and absolutely loved how classy women used to look. Since I am six feet tall and plus size, most of the vintage patterns do not allow for the extra size differential, which leaves me having to learn how to do it on my own. I know this book will change my life (and my look)!

Tea dresses are just the thing to create a little nostalgia - great for hiding a few extra inches and wonderful in bright modern fabrics.
I like to sew tops but I would like to sew more dresses. I am impossible to get a decent fit in ready to wear because I have a large bust. Once I started to sew tops, it wasn't possible to put up with the poor quality and lousy fit of ready to wear tops. I have used Connie Crawford patterns and I would love to get her book!
My personal favorite clothing style is Victorian. I love how patterns were designed and cut to flatter the mature figure. Always amply covered and elegantly draped.
Well, I have two strikes against me for needing Connie's book. 1.) I'm another mature plus sized person and know Connie knows how to design for my type of figure. 2.) I also do personalized one of a kind reproduction costumes for individuals as a source of income and need that quick reference of "easy made" pattern adjustments readily available to fit several different sized clients.

I sew shorts, pants, tops, all types/styles. I like to look nice, stylish & be comfy. Originally I started sewing out of necessity (health related issues). Because of my size (XS), weight (91 Lbs.), age(49)and muscle loss, I couldn't & still can't find clothing that fits. Now, I really enjoy sewing, but I still have the same problem, I can't find patterns that fit me. Some days I get really lucky & knock out 1 or 2 items that actually fit. But I also spend MANY MANY HOURS trying to alter 1 of my many patterns or DAYS trying to make 1 of my own or trying to duplicate something I already have. I currently sew more for my daughter and granddaughter than myself these days. Recently, I've been having difficulty fitting pants, particularly because of the low-rise styling that is so popular with the younger set. Being able to make customized patterns would be wonderful.

I have always wanted to draft mt own patterns. As a new business owner, I am constantly searching for patterns to create vintage looking sewn items that I sell through my business, Hot4Art, LLC. I am a short plus size woman with plenty of curves living in southern Virginia. It is HOT and MUGGY here and mosquitoes are the state bird.
All of my Seattle WA wardrobe is totally wrong for here. People dress more formally and layers are just too warm.
I found I like to wear salwar kameez (tunic & pants). The kameez skims over my lumps and bumps and the salwar (wide leg pant) or churidars (narrow leg pant) are much more comfortable that stockings. I'm also going to try some ankle length caftans. I figure if I don't like the look I can always make them into tunics.

I am trying to sew clothes that fit my short and wide body. I have taken seminars from Connie Crawford and own several of her patterns. I like being able to take a classic pattern and make minor adjustments to change the style. I make Connie's short sleeve pullover top in rayon challis, it is like wearing a tee shirt to work.
I love to make easy to wear clothing such as beach dresses, palazzo pants, large shirts. I think they are fairly quick and easy to make but still must be careful to get the right fit. I call my dresses island dresses with a Key West flare. I really could use the book as I am fairly new at making my own patterns. Thank you for this opportunity.

Curious if anyone has tried a Lekala pattern. There are several free ones. They are auto-drafted to your measurements. I was thinking of using one as a block to make a muslin and see how closely it comes to being perfect. Now if only my measurements didn't change from day to day. :)
