SewStylish Spring Fashion Challenge 2014

Bustier with Peplum and Palazzo Pants

This outfit was made for my lovely daughter to be worn to a wedding.  The pants are made from silk linen lined with silk organza to keep their shape utilizing a Vogue pattern.  The bustier was made from a McCalls pattern using silk charmeuse for the lining, a poly silk for the body of the piece and a pleated poly organza for the overlay.  The overlay was strategically cut and pieced to create the textured effect.  The peplum (which was not part of the McCalls pattern) was made from strategically cut pieces of the organza overlay, the poly silk and tulle.  The bodice was also boned for support.
