2 Prom Dresses

My twin daughters drssed for prom

I have twins girls and made a prom dresses for each.  They both have very different tastes; the two piece black dress ismade from black RPL with an embellished bodice.  The blue dress is made from ombre dupioni (very finely woven and drapey) with a rhinestone band embellsinment aobe the waist.

    Can you share which pattern you used for the crop top? I have been looking for that everywhere. I don't see it on Marfy or Vogue. I could have missed Marfy though.

    Yes I’m happy to! The crop top is Very Easy Vogue 8808 (still in print). All I did was utilize the top of the pattern and the fabric for the top is a rayon poly lycra twill with some stretch because I needed a stabile base fabric for the heavy embellishment. I did not use the skirt from 8808 (but one could certainly) and instead made a simple and narrow A-line floor length 2 piece skirt from black ITY knit with a waistband in the same RPL as the crop top. The back of the top has a keyhole opening secured with 2 sets of hooks/eyes instead of a back zipper – my daughter asked for that but I think the crop top with a zipper would look good too.
