Start your summer with the coolest, but also the hottest, fashions from Butterick’s Summer 2014 pattern collection!

FAST AND EASY PANTS AND SHORTS
These quick and easy-to-make long pants or shorts from Butterick B6061 would be great to take on a tropical vacation or just to wear around the house.

The pattern includes semi-fitted shorts and tapered pants that sit below the waist with a bias, front-button contour waistband, belt carriers, side-front pockets, a mock-fly zipper, and stitched hems.

Suggested fabrics are light- to medium-weight woven fabrics such as twill, poplin, linen, or denim. Notions needed are a 7-inch zipper, one 5/8-inch button, and a 1-inch contour belt.

REMEMBER RETRO?
Throw yourself back to the retro era with this new pattern from Butterick, B6055. This circle-skirt dress is perfect for a picnic in the shade on a hot, sunny day.

The pattern includes a collared pullover dress using optional shoulder pads. The dress has a fitted bodice, pockets with ties, a side zipper, and a self belt.

Suggested fabrics are light-weight, woven fabrics such as linen, taffeta, pique, or brocade. Notions needed include a 12-inch zipper, a 1-inch buckle without a prong, and optional 1/2-inch covered raglan shoulder pads.

HANDKERCHIEF HEMMED TOP
Whether you choose the sleeved or sleeveless style, this loose and airy top from Butterick pattern B6056 will keep you cool from the blazing summer heat.

The loose-fitting shirt has low armholes and a narrow hem. Views A and B are cut on the crosswise grain. They have 2 gathered pockets that include a stay, bias binding, and an opened lower edge. Views A and C include purchased bias-tape finished armholes. Views B and D have long sleeves with stitched hems and a button tab to enable the sleeves to be rolled up.

Suggested fabrics include light-weight wovens such as linen, voile, chambray, and broadcloth. One package of 1/2-inch single fold bias tape is needed for views A and C. View B requires two 3/4-inch buttons; view C needs four 1-inch buttons; and view D requires six 1-inch buttons and two 3/4-inch buttons.

3-IN-1 MIX AND MATCH PATTERN
This Butterick pattern, B6066, includes three different garments with two alternate pattern designs. It would make the perfect wardrobe for formal occasions or for business.

The pattern includes a tunic and a dress with a fitted bodice, princess seams, cut-in armholes, and a back zipper. View A has a self-lined peplum; view D has armhole bands. View E includes pants that are semi-fitted and boot-legged with a contour waist and back zipper.

The garments are designed for light- to medium-weight woven and knit fabrics such as gabardine or double knit. Notions required for views A, B, C, and D, include a 22-inch zipper and a hook and eye. View E needs a 7-inch zipper and a hook and eye.

Freshen your summer wardrobe with this Maggie London pattern from Butterick, B6053. The cute dress is casual enough to wear daily, but also formal enough to wear to a party.

The pattern includes a lined dress with bias neck and sleeve bindings, princess seams, a fitted bodice, side pockets, a hem band cut on the crosswise grain, cap sleeves, and an exposed back zipper.

It is designed for light- to medium-weight woven fabrics such as gabardine, linen, twill, broadcloth, or denim. Notions needed include a 20-inch exposed zipper and a hook and eye.

    Hi EmbroideryDetail! Butterick doesn't have a pattern for the specific top you are looking for, but they do have a similar one, B5997.
