A Rivet -ing Fall Jumper

Snakesin pleather jumper with an exposed zipper and side plackets

In my quest to try my hand at an exposed zipper this was my first.  Using an embossed snakeskin pleather, it is dark chocolate brown.  I Used a basic shift pattern that I had in muslin and instead of using the back seam I opened the front to put the zipper there.  It was very easy to construct and thanks to Threads magazine I had step by step instructions for putting in the Zipper. I considered using a contrasting zipper but opted for a plain black. I lined it with a printed calico I had in my stash. When finished it was to plain so I went back and added the iron on metal decor and it looks like rivets.  My daughter loves the fact it is easily worn in early fall as a dress or all through fall and winter she can add a blouse or turtleeneck under it. I did have a slight problem using the iron ons as the pleather wanted to melt. but carefully low iron pressing and a little extra glue solved my problems. i also had to be careful when pressing the seams so I did not menlt it.
