SewStylish Fall Fashion Challenge 2014

Marcy Tilton Jacket V9035

My jacket is made of 100% wool given to me by a dear friend, Gwen.  I love the way it turned out.  I used covered snaps instead of making buttonholes for the large buttons I chose.

This jacket is Vogue 9035 desiged by Marcy Tilton.

I chose to make this jacket for a sewing challenge in my sewing group.   It is made from a light weight wool which I washed in cold water and line dried so as to avoid dry cleaning in the future.

The pattern went together well, but you really must follow the directions and pay close attention as it was challenging.  I love challenging.

My only  negative comment on the pattern is the facings really did not match up well.  I went back and re-checked my cutting of all pattern pieces and all was correct.  The facing are off a bit.

I added shoulder pads as my shoulders are small and slightly sloped and I feel it made the fit perfect.  I also covered size 4 snaps as I did not want to make such large buttonholes as would be necessary with the buttons I chose from my stash.  I serged all edges for a clean finish.

I love my jacket.
