JOIN THE SEWING PARTY
We’re thrilled to announce that Threads will participate in a new, one-of-a-kind event called The Sewing Party.
It is the first all-day, online DIY event where thousands of sewers and DIY-ers of all genres will gather for an exciting day of sewing and online crafting classes. The classes will be taught by top experts and leading bloggers in their respective fields.
A $40 registration fee grants participants access to more than 30 online classes, which will be available November 8 and for an additional 90 days thereafter. Class offerings include garment construction, fashion sewing, home décor, cosplay (costume play), quilting, and more.
The Sewing Party participants also will have the chance to chat with other attendees across the country*, interact with the experts and teachers, and explore the latest sewing and crafting tips, techniques, and products in their marketplace.

Threads will have a virtual booth where you can find article and project downloads, instructional videos, and ways to learn more about our products. Threads Associate Editor Stephani Miller and Threads Executive Editor Judith Neukam also will be available for a chat November 8. You can interact with Stephani from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST, and with Judith from 3 p.m to 4 p.m. EST.

*Please note that The Sewing Party and virtual ticket giveaway are only open to participants in the United States. The Sewing Party committee hopes to make this an international event in 2015.

Great idea- a sewing party right in your own home!! And you don't even have to get dressed up! I love taking classes and learning new techniques.
Great concept & I would love to be a part of it. I'm most excited for the garment construction and upcycling classes.
I am a visual learner so the online classes would be very beneficial. Also, I am thrilled that Threads is taking the lead in bringing this experience to sewing enthusiasts far and wide. I would consider it special to be a part of this initial event.

I love the idea of a sewing party, and given the fact I live at the bottom of the planet in a small country, I don't get the chances to attend sewing classes as such, so I'm looking forward to it :).

This is my year of learning. I've been sewing for 40 years, and I've let fear and uncertainty keep me from learning fitting and alterations. I took some classes at the American Sewing Expo, and I feel like a world has opened up for me! I'm hungry to learn more!

Such fun! I just purchased a new sewing machine and would love, love, love to spend a whole day playing on it. I am beyond excited about an all day online sewing party! In my area, sewing classes devoted to fitting, garment construction and other sewing gems are rare. I love sewing, but came to this wonderful craft later in my adult years. Because of the dearth of in-depth sewing classes in my area, I would be extremely grateful for a chance to attend the Sewing Party! It's an amazing and wonderful way to engage the wider sewing community and I hope I'm there to share in the fun and learning. Thanks for the giveaway.

Wow! What a great idea to have these classes virtual and then be able to watch them for 90 days. How many times have I gone to a seminar and the classes I want are offered at the same time. Kudis to whoever came up with this idea.

I really want to have a full immersion day, of just learning my favorite hobby, Sewing. I am actually being asked to make thing for people I know, for money but I do not think I am established enough to do that. I made a dress for myself, and my friend came over when she walked by it I just knew it was for her. And apparently I was making it for her too, she put it on and it fit perfectly! We are two very different sizes! I want this to be more than a hobby, I have Fibro, RA, arthritis and depression, this is the one thing that brings me out of my shell. I will keep my fingers crossed!

I don't live on the mainland and there aren't any decent classes offered for my level of skills here. I would love to learn a few more tricks of the trade.
I would enjoy going to class again, last class was in high school. About 50 years ago, I've always sewn and one never stops learning. I need to keep up to keep up with the latest so I can teach my children and grandkids. Thanks for this opportunity. theoldbag!!

I was getting all excited, then read it wasn't open to Insiders resident in the UK! That is mean! We pay the same membership as everybody else but don't get the same benefits. What about a free class to all those who you have excluded?
It would be wonderful to experience sewing as a community and learn from others who are more experienced than I. I miss the days of working with my mom on a project.

Living in a very rural area provides little opportunity to attend classes, so I'm always looking for all available resources to get my creative juices flowing. The Sewing Party seems like one of those great opportunities.

I've been a Children's Minister for almost 18 years, and I'm preparing for a sewing career when I "retire." This would be a great way for me to learn more about the industry and refine my skills.

I need these classes! My mother taught me the basics of sewing as a child, and I've always claimed to know how to sew as a result. Now, 40 years later, I'm finally getting into fashion sewing, and I've realized how much I don't know! Fingers crossed!
