My five year old grandson wanted to be a lion this year for Halloween. I used Simplicity 2855 and because it is still so warm here in Phoenix, I used a lightweight faux suede for the body. Fur and all fabrics came from Jo-Anns. The instructions and pattern have the hood and collar as one piece, closing in the front. I made the hood and collar two pieces, in case his head got too hot. I also moved the collar closing to the rear and used fur hooks for the hood and the collar. I used an invisible zipper down the front to better conceal it and make the tummy smooth. He was happy with it!
