Cardinal Wolsey

16th century Cardinal Wolsey costume. Cassock in red satin, Mozetta (cape) modified 3/4 circle in red velvet, lined with red satin, biretta (cap) built on a buckram base covered and lined in red satin and self wool yarn pompon. Patterns were created by draping in muslin on a size 36 tailors form and corrected before cutting in fashion fabric. The cassock is hemmed with a 3″ folded velvet bias trim and closes with 24 machined buttonholes and self-fabric covered 3/4″ shanked buttons. The Mozetta is fully lined with cassock fabric and closes with 10 machined buttonholes and self-fabric covered 3/4″ shanked buttons.
