There is no Belle in the town costume which is of course, what my daughter wanted to be. She is 12 so I had to alter Mcalls 6554 to fit her smaller frame. I also modified the top by cutting it lower and adding some darts to give it a different shape. Her sister (also 12) was bound to be the Morton Salt Girl. Of course, no pattern. So I used Burda 9465 and modified it by adding pleats to the top and making bell sleeves. Also, she wanted it to be washable so I used a very soft knit and knit underlining which peeks out at the bottom. To give the bodice more structure I added a self facing. In the knit you need the self facing or it would have been too sheer and unstructured. Fortunately she had the yellow shoes, but I think that was the origin of the whole costume idea.
