SewStylish Spring Fashion Challenge 2015

Butterick 6019: Version A

This is Butterick 6019, version A. I am so proud of this dress in large part to all the new techniques I learned and used. I made my third ever full bust adjustment, I put in my first horsehair braid hem, and my first underwire built-in bra. I added 2" to the hem and did my first shirring. Overall a dress of many firsts and advanced techniques for a beautiful and secure fit. The bodice has 2 layers of ShirTaylor interfacing with a layer of fleece lining in between, under wires, boning, and a halter for excellent support. Then for the finishing of the seams I used my over casting stitch feature to ensure a professional look. The skirt is a full circle great for spinning made from gorgeous 100% cotton. Perfect for Spring!

What a beautiful dress, I would certainly like to use some of the skills you have here especially the underwire bra what a good idea. I assume you saw this in threads but if not can you share?

I saw it in Gertie's blog here: http://www.blogforbettersewing.com/2014/05/adding-underwires-to-bustier-style.html?m=1. She's the one who designed this dress pattern and has lots of great advice.
