DIY Project: Falling Leaves Necklace

Threads #181, October/November 2015

Every sewer ends up with small remnants, and many of us stash them because they’re just too lovely to throw in the trash. This fashion-forward necklace is an excellent way to put gorgeous fabric scraps to use—in a wearable form. The necklace is versatile, lightweight, easy to make, and travels well. There’s no sewing involved, and once you’ve learned the basic technique, you can make different leaf or geometric shapes. Select complementary fabrics to reflect the season.

Make your own falling leaves accessory with this tutorial from Threads #181 (Oct./Nov. 2015). It is highly customizable and a great way to use your favorite fabric scraps.
