The Fort Myers/Southwest Florida Chapter of the American Sewing Guild, was challenged to make the To Go bag shown on the cover of the July 2008 Threads magazine (Number 137). Fourteen of our members used their imaginations by adding pockets to the lining; enlarging the pattern to make it more tote size; changing the handles; and many other creative ideas.. At our General Meeting in September the bags were displayed and the membership voted on their favorites. Overwhelmingly our members preferred the bag done by Shirley Allen. She used a machine embroidered tiger on felted wool peeking out of foliage and embellished with beading. This was a lot of fun and we thank Threads with providing an opportunity get those creative juices going.

Great job(s). That must've been fun to do as a group.
Way to go Fort Myer's Florida Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. Tallahassee Chapter commends your creativity with the fun project
What fun! I love seeing your bags. I wrote the article for Threads and designed the bag and it's great to see such a variety. You inspire me, too!
