Reusable Shopping Bags

a shopping bag that is a real eye catcher made from a collage of magazine cut outs in related colors collected over a ten year period to salvage some beauty out of throw aways.

I wanted to find something to show my colors….the collages I make from things I cut and tore from magazines over the past ten years.  Started when I had to move cross country and it wasn’t wise to pay to ship boxes of magazines, I now have four file boxes of clear pockets in every color of the rainbow from which to make collages.

With the concern today about the effect of discarded plastic grocery sacks on the environment, these bags are perfect for taking to the store.   I get lots of approving comments and have sold some on my etsy site…ecollage.etsy.com.   I will make more after the holidays.

These bags, are terrific. I tried making some a year or two back...but I never got around to it. They are unique.

I went shopping the other day looking for a way to use my paper sacks, and shopping at the "Dollar Tree" around here and they had these "paper poketbook style gift boxes, somewhat like a pocket. (you put small gift or flowers inside. Iam making up some of these for my "Money or gift card presentations. Has anyone seen this "paper pocketbook/purse? Kreativelady.

I love this bag! What a unique design. Would you mind sharing how you adhered the magazine pages to the fabric? It looks like they may be covered in some type of plastic. I would love to try this with photographs but don't have any idea how you created this. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Clever idea! I wonder if it would work with postcards!

Very clever, I have done the same thing with the funnies, then ironed iron on vinyl over that to protect the paper.

This is a great idea, I love using reusable shopping bags whenever I'm at the store, but I never thought to make my own. I'll have to go and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the inspiration!
