I made a coat like this in the 70’s out of an old army blanket. All my friends wanted one! After all these years I saved the pattern and made another. I used the embellisher to needle felt wool in a scroll design on the sleeves, hood and hem. For a closure, I used a very big button with two others on top with a funky fiber loop for closure. Whenever I wear the coat, I get many positive comments. I guess I’ve come up in the world, last time I used an old blanket, this time I used a wool cashmere blend!

Dewdrops, just love your coat! I have made something similar in style, but hadn't thought to do embelishing on it.
Thanks for the great idea.
Wonderful! I am working at the General Assembly, where all we lobbysts share a common closet. Seems like all the women have black wool coats... wish I had thought to embellish mine before session. You can bet I'll take time to do it before next year's session! Thanks for the great example... your embellishments combine to look at once cheerful and sophisticated.
I have a black wool coat and an embellisher.. What am I waiting for. Thanks for the inspiration
Wow, lovely pattern and fabric. They mesh well, what a good idea to use the felting.
