One of a three-jacket sewing project. I did different pockets for each jacket, for practice. This one got double-welt lower pockets and a single-welt upper pocket.

This jacket looks more wrinkled than it really is! Garment photography sure is tricky. Back vent and vented sleeves. Unfortunately, I have not found smaller buttons for the sleeve vents to match jacket front.

There's something I find very energizing about plaids, and I love using bias-cut details.

I fell in love with the drawing and the classic lines of this jacket based on a man's sportcoat. My sewing teacher challenged me to cut and sew three versions at once to build experience and confidence. So I did! A long haul, but I succeeded!

I just want to say that those 3 jackets look fantastic! I absolutely love the vintage look as well. I have a few vintage jackets and I find the fabric used on them makes the jackets far better looking then the ones used today. I know wool gabardine is also a good material but I was wondering if you know what type of fabrics they used in the 1940's that we could purchase today? I want to use those materials as opposed to the ones used today.
Thanks
