Red Crochet Taffetta Top
comments (4) February 27th, 2009 in sewing, reader's closetYarn: Patons Brilliant: radiant red, almost 2 skeins.
Hook: 3.5mm
Fabric: taffeta
For the upper part of the top I used this mettalic sparkling yarns
and half double crochet stitches for tighter work, so it did not
require underlining.
The fabric is cut based on a Burda pattern from WOF 09/2007.
I ironed the pleats first using steam and water on the folds. Stitched
the right side seam, inserted the zipper on the left, hemmed the lower
and upper parts, and attached the cups (sewn by machine).
For the hem I used this tutorial from BurdaStyle
Pattern or design used: My own design - Mirela Popovici

@ette: you can see a similar crochet pattern for the bra cups online: http://www.pingouin.com.br/receitas/receitas3.php?gRecOutrasIdInt=51&gReceitaIdInt=17
and the schema: http://www.pingouin.com.br/receitas/receitas3.php?Pagina=2&gRecOutrasIdInt=51&gReceitaIdInt=17
you can combine this with other patterns to create the bottom half, or draft your own pattern, maybe on the bias with a slit in the back?
