For Halloween 2016 I made a Pink Power Rangers outfit. Everything except the mask and socks were sewn by moi. I can never find any adult costumes that aren’t cheaply made or a bit “showy”. Instead of dressing as a scantily clad cutesy tart I altered existing patterns to become a super hero from the 1990’s tv show The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The tunic is a modified version of McCalls 6658 knit pattern; I raised the neckline, drafted the diamond shapes and collar, and shaped the hem into a “V”. The leggings are McCalls 6404 legging color-blocked to fit the style of the original power ranger costume. The entire outfit is made of medium to heavy-weight hot pink and white spandex. The entire patternmaking and sewing process (all the seams are serged to protect the integrity of the spandex) took about two weeks. So fun! Very proud of the outcome. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
