Halloween Costume Contest 2016

The Little Wonder Woman

This outfit was made in responce to how the little girl wanted the look of the DC Bombshells Wonder Woman, but they wanted to keep it kid friendly. The shirt is made from Flame red bridal satin, with a 100% Cotton white Collar and front facing. The wonderwoman applique was done using wonder under and yellow bridal satin. Around the logo it was stitched in a matching yellow satin stitch. The piping is actually a reflective fabric piping by dritz. It was used to highligh the “W”. The center front was done with a red invisible zipper. The shorts are a royal blue 100% Cotton Broadcloth. The applique starts are wonder under, and white cotton broad cloth. The waist band is 1″ wide non-roll elastic. The boot covers are matching red bridal satin, lined with red broadcloth. The white star and center front stripe are appliqued white cotton. The piping on the cuff and around the foot is reflective piping. The piping on the shirt and boots were added to be decorative, but also to keep the kiddo safe. Home made costumes are great, but they must be safe too. The crown is craft sparkle foam, hot glued onto a fabric and elastic base. Both held up very well under the kiddo’s abuse. The cuffs are also craft foam with velcro closures. The belt is 2 inch wide gold sequin elastic trim. The buckle is a base of hard scrapbooking cardboard overlayed with an oval of glitter craft foam, and then the eagle belt design from craft foam. The foam was then shaded to add defintition.
