Halloween Costume Contest 2016

Indian Corn Costume

Indian Corn Costume for my son, Alex

I drew free handed every part.  Tank slip of raw cotten for kernels to attatch to.  Marbled cotton fabric in fall colors for kernels, (over 250) stuffed, gathered and individually sewn on slip and each also attaching to the next, above and below, Side to side,  like a quilt. Raw cotton long sleeve shirt past finger tips into a point, sleeves stiffened and bound till dried to make husk like sleeves. Same for cape of husk and head husk. Bound on top of head.  Glossy twisted floss for corn silk. For finishing touch, long John’s to resemble cob with out kernels and Indian moccasins.
