Using a Vogue pattern from the 1950's, this silk velvet dress has a lovely draped bodice.  The fluid hand of the velvet made it perfect for the dress as it caught the light in the folds of the drape.  The burnout section of the fabric was reserved for the skirt.  Ivory taffeta was used as an underlining, making the burnout design noticeable and also giving the skirt some body.  An antique rinestone buckle embellished the front of the belt, with an exteme bow for the back.  The red bow was designed to coordinate with the red heels.  In the end, it was all about the shoes.

Pattern or design used: Vogue 5605 (out of print pattern from 50's)
