Back view of dragonfly costume.  All fabric was made by layering metalic mesh to create the irridescent effect of a dragonfly.
Front view, shorter skirt in front to reveal the dragonflys legs.
Close up of center wings, beads, sequins and rhinestones were used to create that flash of sparkle on a dragonfly.
Bodice front is beaded with crystals.  The layers of metalic mesh can be seen more clearly in this photo.  The layers were quilted together with gold thread.

This is my Dragonfly Queen costume.  The fabric is made with layers of metalic mesh.  The layers were quilted with gold thread to create the irridescent effect that we see on dragonfly's body and wings.  The skirt back is longer than the front to reveal the dragonfly's legs in front while creating the long body from the back.  The center of the wings in back and the bodice front are beaded.  The Dragonfly Queen also has a crown, of course.
