Inspired by a RTW jacket, I modified Butterick 6056 to create my Lovely Linen Jacket. I used Robert Kaurman Essex Linen/Cotton blend, raised the neck a bit and subbed a separating Coats zipper for the buttons shown in View D on the pattern. Using black Coats Tim Holtz craft thread, I handstitched details down the front and along the neck of the jacket. Hint: The front and neck were first topstitched on the machine so that I could use the machine stitches as a guide for even handstitching. The buttons on the sleeve tabs are from my Fabulous Button Stash which I am so glad that I have. I am thrilled with this jacket and look forward to wearing it a lot during our "not always hot" Pacific Northwest Summer!
