I made these satin flower girl dresses for my niece's wedding.  The silver satin belts were added to a basic McCalls princess style pattern, as was the lining, crinoline and multiple top skirt layers of tulle.  The dress is fully lined & has crinoline between the lining and the white satin skirt, which is topped with 3 layers of tulle: using stiffer tulle as the first layer, a medium tulle, then a very fine bridal tulle for the top layer.  I hand stitched pearl beading on the back zipper placket.  The belts were made by covering belting with satin, and an adjustable fastener was used in the back.  The bow and sashes were constructed separately assuring equal bow sizes, and attached with hook and eye on either side of a bit of velcro to the back of the belt.  They never came untied even when the little boys were pulling on them; and the adjustable belts fit each size girl perfectly.  I want to do volunteer sewing for hospice & for disabled veterans, and winning would allow me to chose fabrics not normally available to me, both because of our economic situation and because of the lack of good fabric sources in the area.  And, if I sew for them, I want to use good fabric. Thank you.

Cherise writes: I was amazed by the beauty of these dresses. They had to look so beautiful in the wedding. I hope this seamtress wins, she is so talented and her goals of sewing for hospice and our veterans are commendable.
