This was my first design. I didnt make very good choices for the background fabric. I drew some of the pictures freehand and some others came from childrens colouring books.
This one of the blocks from Sarahs Quilt. I drew the bunny freehand. Doesnt he look funny? A very odd shape but I did have fun.
You really have to zoom in on this one to see it. The basket was a piece of upholstery material. I use all kinds of fabric just for the fun of it. I told Sarahs mom that she didnt really need to hang it because it would have to be vacuumed. Oh well, live and learn. I got the effect I wanted thought. <g>
This was the centre block. The heart and love birds represented the love of mommy and daddy for Sarah.
I really like this little guy. He is such a flirt. I drew him freehand, hes really very simple because thats my limit. I just know I am going to love fabric art. Im getting started and am so happy that I have saved so many things that are just perfect for fabric art. I figure by the time Im 80 I might get the hang of it.

I had fun looking back at these pictures. Now, I have to tell the truth. I never did give it to Sarah. I thought it was just terrible and knew it could never be washed. I made another wallhanging for her, that was more practical for mom to take care of. I just wanted to see what I could do with the new methods I was learning. Sarah is 13 now.
