Yellow Linen Dress
comments (6) July 1st, 2009 in sewing, design, tips & tricks, fabric, reader's closetThis is a dress I made for a young lady to wear to her bridal shower. I had to make the dress at the last minute so I did not get the measurments correct. It turned out too short. Oh What to do now? Thank God for the Threads magazine article in the last issue that showed how to make a seminole sawtooth patchwork design. I made the border and added it to the dress, the dress fit perfectly and the bride was very pleased. The article was in the July 2009 issue number 143 page 32 It was very easy to do. I used some of the fabric(dull satin)from the bridesmaid dresses (I am making those too) and some dark purple taffeta that I had on hand. I love the contrast of the colors. I will be using this technique alot more.
