Amusement Pack Challenge Front

When challenged by a local quilt store to produce an item using only the fabric from a package of coordinating fabrics, I chose to make this vest.  The package contained 1/2 yard of the poppy fabric and 5 fat quarters.  We could add embellishments, lining and binding in fabrics of our choice as long as the packaged fabrics were prominent.  I won first place in the apparel category.  I chose various piecing techniques for the fabric such as paper piecing for the star on the back and bargello piecing for the front.  For the closures, I made piping  and used antique black glass buttons which have an oriental motif.

Pattern or design used: Park Bench Pattern #20
