crazy christmas stocking

Using the crazy quilt techinique I have made stockings for all my children, their spouses, and then grandchildren as they came along. Using all kinds of material scraps coordinating with chirstmas colors I then cut out the stocking pattern and used gold trim, braid, and cording between the pieces instead of using hand stitches. Last year I made one for a niece and used the white fur trim and my grandaughter got jealous. So I went back and sewed the fur trim on hers as well. I use cording around the stocking with a solid color back. Using my embroidery machine I have stitched theri names on the cuff. Each one is individual and the boys look more masculine. I have also posted a tree skirt I did this year for my daughter to match the stockings. This is a fun way to use scraps and buttons and all sorts of fun embellishing.
