Sashiko Linen Vest with Silk Dupioni

Sashiko Vest Front

This vest is a modified design of the Sewing Workshop's Peony Vest. The vest is made of black linen and I cut a yoke in the back and inserted a silk dupioni pleat. Sashiko Stitching in the colors of the silk complete the yoke in a grid pattern. The armholes and front edges are finished with silk binding. The vest is lined with black "silky" rayon.

Be sure to include a brief description of your garment highlighting any special techniques you used to create the garment, what pattern you used, any modifications you made, or if you designed it yourself. Threads editors will choose the winner based on creativity, best use of technique, quality of construction and style. Keep in mind that we’ll be judging from a photograph only, so the determinations will be based on the clarity of these features as seen in the photograph.
