Vintage Linen Lined Boys Jacket and Shorts
August 6th, 2009 in reader's closetThis Vintage Linen Jacket and Shorts are both lined. I made these for my son 18 years ago for my cousin's wedding - and he wore it at my wedding, too - but with purchased slacks instead. The linen used was already vintage when I found it in my grandmother's stash - so now it's ultra-vintage. : ) The buttons are also vintage, again from my grandmother's stash. The little crest was purchased. My grandmother is seen in the photos. She taught me how to do the linings, as she was an expert seamstress. She passed away 10 years ago, and I keep this little outfit as a memory of her and of my son's childhood. He is now a member of the United States Air Force. It's hard to believe he was once so little...
