Indigo Linen Discharge Suit
August 14th, 2009 in reader's closetKimono style jacket of original design with princess seams, accent piping, hidden pockets, and french cuffs. I discharged a length of the indigo linen to make the accent fabric and used self covered buttons with machine stitchery as additional details.
The cropped pants are based on a Sandra Betzina Vogue pattern 1050 that had a waistline idea I liked; flat front & back with elastic on side seams at waistband. I used her waistband concept and changed the design to include: side seam pockets, crop pants with closed side seams and hem detail of a "cuff" with inverted pleat of discharged fabric and self covered buttons as accent.
