Linen "Giraffe" Jacket
comments (2) August 15th, 2009 in sewing, design, garment construction, tips & tricks, reader's closetCONSTRUCTION:
- Shoulder Seams
- Sleeve Caps to Arm Holes
- Side seams up through Sleeve seams
- Same with lining
- Attached lining to cuffs, then Hem and Neck/ pulled through ( at this time I decided to add a facing instead of having the lining meet the front opening)
- Sewed bound facing up front and around neck then "tacked" it to lining with light weight bonding tape
- Button Loops were added prior to the Lining on both Neck and Sleeves
- Buttons are antique...a find at an Estate Sale
Found this great Linen fabric at an Estate Sale about three years ago. Designed the Jacket I wanted to make it into, and finally got to it this spring. Love wearing it with a white shell top, white Linen Slacks and Linen espadrille Shoes.
