This blouse is made with very fine, almost sheer, handkerchief linen. It is trimmed with ecru color cotton lace insertion and edging. The lace edges are all stitched with a wing needle to give it the heirloom look I wanted. The sleeves end in a bell shaped cuff set into a band, collar is designed to be worn either up or down. The sleeves are a variation of a raglan sleeve with a very curvy seam. ( a royal pain in the neck to draft for a decent fit)It has princess seams and is semi fitted. There is a panel in the front which buttons in or out so that it can be worn as a blouse alone or as an overblouse. I like to wear it with a nondescript layer underneath it and mix it with more contemporary clothes or accessories so that it doesn't look prissy. It works great for that "tough and tender" look when mixed with distressed khaki or denim.
