My granddaughter, Shoshana, spends a lot of time with her grandpa. One of their favorite things to do is share music and that particular year (2007), Shoshana became enamored of the song, Devil With The Blue Dress On. I had lots of fun trying to interpret the song and this was the result. The skirt and blouse were originally designed to be a dress, but I couldn't get the fabric to hang right (because I'd fully lined it for warmth). The result was to split the pattern and insert a lining that hung at the bottom like a separate garment. The hat was a great challenge and I made it out of faux leather and horns shaped from polymer clay. Shoshana delighted in her outfit, and by the time was over, even sang the song to some of her favorite neighbors when she went trick-or-treating.
