Chocolate Cupcake
comments (2) October 26th, 2009 in sewing, design, reader's closetMy 3 year old granddaughter decided she wanted to be a cupcake with a strawberry on top and to have a princess fairy bucket. She is 1000 miles away. (She thinks her Oma can do anything!! lol) I looked for a pattern but couldn't find one, so.....proceeded to design my own. With a lot of phone calls back and forth with her mother to get measurements this was the end result.
I used felt for the majority of the costume. Pink for the frosting and brown for the chocolate cupcake. I decorated the "frosting" with polka dots, using felt circles cut out with pinking shears then sewed on with invisible thread. I found a picture of a strawberry and constructed the strawberry from a pattern made from the picture. The "princess bucket" is made from a recycled lard bucket. I covered it with felt and then added gathered tulle and covered the handle with pink ribbon. (She likes the polka dots best!)
