Arrr, Cap'n Chrissio
October 28th, 2009 in reader's closetI had to remake some old patterns to make this -took a while but worth it. The coat was made from an old tablecloth (a neighbor gave me some), some freecycled fabrics and a bit of muslin I've had laying around for too many years. I finished the coat after the pic of him wearing the other parts. The boot toppers were the arms of a suede shirt that never fit me right so it was repurposed (the rest will be remade into a bikini a la Raquel Welch ;) The hat was fun since I had no pattern - wound up using a bowl that fit his head for the main shape and cutting the naugahyde to fit. The first hat became a fez, so, learning from that error, I was able to create this tricorn hat.
