I'm ready to launch on a couture project and need to know where to start. I'm reading everything I can get my hands on and know Claire's book will set me in the right direction. I've done tailoring, but it's been many years and I need an updated perspective.

My Singer Featherweight was my high school grad. gift - 50 years ago. I still love it. It is a work horse. It makes better buttonholes than any of my $$$$$ Bernina or Vikings. I wouldn't part with it for anything.

We used this article as the basis of a recent American Sewing Guild meeting and found it helpful, but not the full picture. The book "Looking Good" by Nancy Nix-Rice has a much more in depth set of instructions that are very helpful.
