Circle Jacket

I found this beautiful vintage sari material online and fell in love with it! The material is silk with sequins and rhinestones scattered throughout.

Circle Jacket

The material is vintage sari material I bought online last year from an Etsy store.  I used Saf-T-Pockets Circle Jacket pattern.  I took the class from Marsha McClintock at the ASG Annual...

Re: Attend The Sewing Party

Great idea- a sewing party right in your own home!! And you don't even have to get dressed up! I love taking classes and learning new techniques.

Re: The CA Summer Dress 2014

Love the dress!

Re: Fall 2014 Color Trends Abandon Typical Palette

I like most of the colors, not sure about the Aluminum though. I have strawberry blonde hair and think that color would not look good on me. I did just buy a blouse (I know- I could have made it!) that has the Aurora Red and Cognac in it. Love the color combination!

Re: The Bag-Lady Giveaway: Four handbag books and a quilted bag to carry them all!

I like a bag with a zippered middle section (inside) and lots of pockets inside and out!

Re: Win a Copy of Serger Techniques on DVD!

I love my serger, but would love to learn more than just finishing seams and rolled edges!

Re: Win a Copy of Smart Fitting with Kenneth D. King on DVD

Can't sign up either! Threads needs to check their link.

Re: What to do with a Sari

After reading your article I decided to check out "an Etsy seller in India". Oh my goodness, she has some beautiful saris! I finally settled on 2 and they arrived today. They are absolutely gorgeous!! I can't wait to make something with them. My question is - how do you rid the fabric of the smell and do you dry clean or hand wash the fabric? Thank you for your article.

Re: What to do with a Sari

I like the idea of maing a tunic out of the sari fabric. I have used obi (the sash thatgoes around a kimono)to make pillows. I lived in Japan for @ 3 1/2 years and went to the shrine markets (think flea market)whenever I could. I must haveclose to 50 obi - I use them for table runners and wall hangings. I bought some of them to make pillows or clothing out of, but they are so gorgeous that I cannot bring myself to cut them. Maybe one of these days..

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Industry Insider Techniques with Louise Cutting Volumes 1-4

I saw some of the videos on the Insider web page and loved them!! I liked the way Louise Cutting explained everything - not over my head or below my level, just right!! Would love to have these DVD's :)
