Re: Project in Progress

Exquisite. You are undoubtedly gifted, and have a feel for fabric. Only one complaint, and that is that next time you use larger photos. ;-)

Re: From Botch Job to Beautiful in an Afternoon!

I meant to add that I like it much better under the jacket. And I can't help thinking it would be great over a billowy white shirt! Very Beau Brummel!

Re: From Botch Job to Beautiful in an Afternoon!

I love all your posts. Really, you are a master craftsman. I can't imagine why the armholes were extended in the jacket. How could you possibly raise your arms while wearing it?

Lovely fabric, so absolutely great job saving it!

May I make a request? Please do something on working with light knits, i.e. pleating, manipulating, draping, etc. I love the idea, but I have a real problem making it look finished, as opposed to a 'quelle horreur!'

Re: A Nice Little Suit

The workmanship is wonderful, and the jacket is nice, but the skirt is awful. I can't imagine it suiting any figure.

Re: The Rose Sweater

Absolutely gorgeous! Love Anthropologie too, but really, some of the prices are crazy. Going to try a version of this!

Thanks so much for posting it!

Re: Stunning dark green winter jacket

Lovely color. And I love the Edwardian lines. Did the fabric have any lycra? My problem with that kind of fitted jacket is that without lycra or some mechanical 'give' in the fabric, it can make it uncomfortable.

Love the idea of interlining it with fleece!

Re: The Felted Wool Sweater--Updated

Brilliant, as always!

Re: 2011 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Fashions

Claire Danes' dress was absolutely perfect.

Catherine Zeta Jones, Olivia Wilde, et al. ho-hum.

Julianne Moore - What possessed her? She looks like she's wrapped in an old chintz curtain!

Michelle Williams - It looks like an old bedspread, and by the expression on her face, she realized it too late!

Helena Bonham Carter - Kudos for not being 'styled' and doing her own thing! It is Vivienne Westwood after all. (Would have preferred red, black or blue shoes though. Preferably of the same color. ;-)

Re: Doctor Who -- The Fourth Doctor

I can hear the theme music! Brilliant! Best Tom Baker Dr. Who ever!

Re: Roaring 20s Opulent dress and faux fur tippet

Fab! A velvet Opera coat over this, and you're set for anything!

Re: Weave a Celtic Knot

This is STUNNING! I've drawn and painted Celtic knotwork over the years, and it never occurred to me to try this. I imagine it requires a little patience, but the result is so, I'm going to say it again, STUNNING! This would be a terrific way to decorate vintage-style blouse/cardigan/dress. I'm impressed!

Re: Hell in a Handbasket Hoody

Brilliant use of a very old technique. I always associate basketweaving of fabric with silk and velvet in period costumes and can never think of a way to incorporate it into everyday clothes without being overly fussy. Genius idea!

Re: HEATHER ROSE'S WEDDING VEIL

What an accomplishment! It's absolutely gorgeous. You have created an heirloom that will no doubt be passed on for generations. Well worth a little eye strain. Well done you!
