Winning a book on hats would be the answer to my dream. My grandmother wore hats when I was little and I did too cause I wanted to be just like her. Now 60 years later I am still wearing hats, I wear one every Sunday to church and am known as "the hat lady". I have to find most of my hats at second hand stores and they need re-made which I love. Having some professional tricks and techniques would help me so much. Thank you Threads!

I love hand embroidery with beading. I practice but I'm still not great at it. Thank you Threads for sharing these great details to us.

My greatest quilting experience was making a quilt for my first granddaughter. It was a crazy quilt just like the one my grandmother and I made when I was 12 years old. I adored my grandmother as she was more like my mother than grandmother and I stuck to her like glue. I did everything she did and wanted to be just like her. I watched and helped her quilt all my life until one day when I turned 12 she told me to pick out the material, set the sewing machine and I would be making the crazy quilt with her assistance. I felt I had graduated and had become a woman! She trusted me to make something beautiful! We quilted together as much as we could until she passed away. God made only one like her and I hope to be as much like her as God will allow.

I really enjoy both hemming by hand and hand embroidery on garments. It is very enjoyable and relaxing plus I can converse with my husband at the same time and we have fellowship together.

I seem to fall into both the romantic and the business styles. I like the feminine look and also the taylored look.

I am disabled and my body is so distorded in it's profile (short 5' tall, one shoulder down the other up, sway backed, barrel chested, etc.) and I never look good in my clothes. Would like to be able to make one outfit using the drape that might conceal some of the lack of balance of my body. Thank you.

I would like to drape a nice evening gown first and then an elegant pants suit. Thank you for you magazine and all the help you give to us all.

It would be so great to have these DVD's as I am 65 and disabled. I am unemployable but I can sew and I am going to try to make a living by sewing for others. I know all the basics of sewing but need help with custom fitting, alterations, and the tricks of the trade. I have a fairly new Brother Embroidery sewing machine along with the desire, excitement, and the sticktoitiveness to get it done. Either way, I will be studying and sewing until I get it right.

Re: How to Make Ribbon Trim
Thank you so much for this trim. I was just wishing for a creative trim to use on the neck line of a dressy but plain T-shirt. You answered now to attach but how is it laundered?

Most people will probably like it but I for one hate the color. I can't wear it and wouldn't if I could. It's also a bad color for me in cosmetics. But I'm sure I can work with it this year.

Re: DVD GIVEAWAY: Threads Magazine Archive, 1985-2011
Access to that much information would be mind blowing. I have books and boxes full of pages and print outs of tips and how-to's. It's so hard to get anywhere always looking through boxes for that tip or informant article you once saw. I can't imagine how much better my sewing would be if all the information was so organized for me. The best gift I could receive would be access to that many years of knowledge from the best! Thank you Threads for your wonderful magazine!

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: "Underwear Fashion in Detail"
We have a 1929 Mercedes Roadster and we dress for the era. I make a lot of retro clothing and the book featured here would be worth a lot to help me really get it right. Thank you for the chance to own it.
