Savannagal, you can the pattern by using graph paper with one inch squares, or you can make the graph paper yourself, using tissue paper or inexpensive craft paper. Each of the little squares represents one inch. My first sewing project in junior high school was to make an apron out of a yard of fabric. This brings back great memories.
