Studied, dressmaking, tailoring, corsetry, millenery, design, layout, cutting, embroidery, and shoe design at a school that was incorporated into Barrat Street Polytechnique, later into the London School of Needlework, and, I am told, later into the London University. I'd love to learn the history of the school. Later became a designer for Lawrence House, London and New York. Now I spend my time designing jewelry after teaching myself metalsmithing, and beadworking. I collect old Singer sewing machines, and take them with me to Mexico to help women in mountain villages augment their low incomes. I love to make pine needle baskets and I have done quite a bit of time teaching Craft and Art Teachers, and time as an Artists in Residence for a local school. Beadwork is a wonderful way to embellish my quilts and clothing. Wherever I go you can bet I have a Singer Featherweight 222, and a project with me. I love to travel and buy fabrics everywhere I go.The best thing of all is to find someone who will teach me more.

craft interests: sewing, embroidery, quilting, fashion, pineneedle baskets, beadwork, painting.
