Learned to sew on Treadle sewing machine making doll clothes. During high school, I used my Mothers Featherweight (which I now own) to make my clothes.
Joined the Navy, and didn't sew for the time I was in.
After Navy, I started out with the new Featherweight and purchased several machines until I ended up with the Designer I and Viking 5 thread Serger.
I sewed for my family, even making my husband suits for work. I went from "embarrassed to admit it was "home made"-as a teenager, to proud to tell them it was hand made- as an adult". How things have changed.
I don't sew as much as I use to, but still enjoy sorting through my fabric stash and coming up with something original.
